Munch Locations...

Postby tony.aaron » Tue Jul 20, 2010 06:21 am

Hi everyone, I know I'm very new here but I thought I'd dive right in and try to organise a munch to meet some of you :D. I'm from the south east so that's the sort of area that I'd be looking to organise it in, but instead of just giving a place of where to have it I wanted to ask everyone where they'd like to have it!

So please post below where you think would be a good place to have one; theme park/zoo/london attraction/ anywhere else that you think would be a good idea!

I think the important thing is to have it somewhere where everyone can chat comfortably, and you don't have to pay to get in (most of us seem to be students). I know that narrows it down a bit.

It would be great to have it at a theme park but not sure I could afford it.

No need to admit defeat, just take all the sensible advice, know your audience a bit, and plunge ahead!

Most of us will have to do a bit of traveling to get to a munch (even if it's one side of London to the other), and everyone likes a good meal and drinks, so that's why we've traditionally met in pubs. Also, sitting in one place makes it easier for newcomers to find the group, and pubs provide shelter from the ever-present threat of rain.

That said, parks can make good venues on a nice day, and who's to say we can't all meet up at a theme park or a museum or go to the movies or anything really. I'd potentially be up for any of those.

One other thing I would add: sometimes very few people are able to make it to a munch, even a well-established one. I've been one of only 4 people at a Birmingham munch (which has had up to 15 or more people at other times) and still had a great time. It doesn't mean the organiser failed in any way, and the next month the numbers went back up. Just the way it goes.
